Quiet on the home front

I realize things have been super quiet over here, and I’m afraid it’s going to stay that way for just a little longer. It’s moving week! We finally found a duplex that we both liked and we’ll be moving in this weekend.

I am going to dearly miss my enormous upstairs bathroom complete with claw foot but, and the full bath on the first floor. Our new place has 2 baths but one is a half bath on the first floor. But, having no nosey neighbors, landlords that live a few hours away and a HUGE yard certainly makes up for it. On top of that our landlords have given us the go ahead to do anything we like with the outside. We share an acre lot with the people in the abutting duplex and that gives each of us plenty of room without feeling like either of us are in each other’s way. I will no longer have to worry about the neighbors dog digging up my newly planted garden or Jocelyn getting dirty in their dogs mess.

First project of the summer: Patio. Adam is pretty excited about that!

So, I may check in before next week, if not things should be getting back to normal at the beginning of next week after we move and are all settled in. I’m still waiting on the walking foot to arrive too.

What a great start!

So it’s Sunday night and guess where the “item of the week” is? Well, nowhere. The walking foot that I ordered for my machine evidently was the wrong one and I can’t quilt this project without it. That’s what I get for buying a universal product.  I have ordered the correct walking foot straight from Brother and it should be arriving sometime this week. I do, however, think this foot may fit on the Kenmore but I haven’t tried to install it. In fact, I haven’t done much of anything with the Kenmore yet. It needs a good cleaning and to be oiled.

On a happier note, I had a great weekend with my husband and daughter. The little Lady Bug has a new favorite hobby of shoveling dirt from the yard and dumping it in  the grass or sidewalk. Jocelyn and I planted Pumpkin, Sunflowers, Watermelon’s and Snap dragons for Jocelyn, and Dill, Onions, Red Sunflowers and Hydrangea for me. And since we are moving in two weeks there won’t be any dogs around to dig up our gardens this year! That’s something I look forward to!
